Ora George Johnson, 85, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away Friday, February 10th, 2017.

George was born June 9th, 1931 in Wilson, New York, to Myrtle and Adorno Johnson. He was a lieutenant, stationed at Ft. Stewart, Georgia, and a 1957 graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Industrial Engineering.   On June 20th, 1954, he married the former Mary Ann Childers in Savannah. George was employed as a General Manager with Owens Illinois Forest Products Division.

George is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his two children, George Dana Johnson and Lisa Johnson Moseley and her husband Chuck; and his two grandchildren: Scott Moseley (wife Annesley), and Caroline Moseley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Douglas Johnson; two sisters, Elenor Ferington and Jean Gardner; and a brother, Adorno Johnson Jr. "

The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2017 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Bonaventure Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests remembrances to The Alzheimer's Association, 201 Television Circle, Savannah, GA 31406.
